Preparation and Properties of Nano-ZnO Combined with Biomass Heavy Oil Composite-Modified Asphalt

Biomass heavy oil is employed to partially substitute the petroleum-based asphalt due its renewability, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective advantages. However, usage weakens high-temperature performance of petroleum asphalt. Therefore, nano-ZnO was as a modifier make composite-modified improve in this paper. It prepared two steps: first, bio-asphalt by adding biomass based on certain content matrix then with particle size 20 nm. The modification methods were analyzed Fourier infrared (FTIR) X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments. Three major indexes test, dynamic shear rheological Brookfield rotational viscosity test (RV), thermogravimetric analysis (TG-DSC) are used analyze results show that physically chemically modify effect best when about 9%. composite oil-modified improved significantly. Bio-6% 1% better than bio-asphalt. Bio-12% 3% best.
